My complaint:
with the cost-of-living soaring when my partner noticed a promotion on uber eats and because she had been feeling depressed. I said I would order items for breakfast and cook for her. the total bill in the basket came to around 54 pounds minus the 20-pound promotion and showed the value of approximately 34 pounds. on ing payment, the amount taken was 54 pounds, I contacted the help service and finally found the chat (really not easy to find) on explanting the issue the operator said there was nothing they could do while the order was still in process, I explained that i wanted to cancel the order if the promotion code was not going to be taken off, to be told they had process in place and it would be resolved after the items had been delivered. after I had received the items, I tried to contact the help desk again once I finally found the chat again, after explaining everything again I was told I was in the wrong help section, when I explained there is no other option or chat support for my concern the operator said they would pass my issue on, and someone would be in contact. and with that ended to chat. the only other way to contact them is to spend either 3.75 or 6 pound per minute on premium calls. it’s absolutely disgraceful that a multi-national company, and it’s not the first time that either the voucher or promotional codes have not applied, and the full amount has been taken. You have to wonder? is this why they make it so difficult to get help and support via the chat-hub just so you have to use the premium number, effectively paying them more than what the unauthorized over payment was in the first place. especially as your on hold every time for 11 to 20 minutes. this is cybercrime in your face.
PS I’m still waiting for that call back!

return the over payment into my bank account - not via a voucher code on uber eats.
