The Home Depot complaint: Total delivery debacle

My complaint:

Ordered 2 Milwaukee impact drill kits on Dec. 10, 2021, for Christmas gifts. Received shipping ation with delivery date of 121621. Date came and went. Contacted customer service on 122121 about missing order. Was notified by email on 122221 that items would arrive between 1227 and 122921 (after Christmas), the same delivery day as if I had ordered the items that day instead of 12 days before. Deliver on 122921 of ONE drill only. Arrived in the original Milwaukee box it would have been in on the store shelf, with shipping label adhered to box. Told FedEx guy that there were suppose to be TWO. Other was not on truck. The shipping label said 1 of 1. Contacted customer service and they said shipping indicated item was 11 lbs. which would be the weight of 2 drills. Shipping label does say 11 lbs. but again, it is ONE drill kit in it’s original Milwaukee box. No room for 2. Eventually, customer service refunded the price of the missing drill AFTER informing me that usually I would have to fight this out with paypal and I would have to prove that there was only 1 drill!

Suggested solution:

When I called customer service on 1221, they should have overnighted the item since it was their shipping error and THESE WERE SUPPOSE TO BE CHRISTMAS GIFTS! They were still offering these items to others when they hadn't delivered items already purchased. They should not have continually lied about what was going on. They should be able to look up the order on their end and see how the items were shipped. If it was a single box or two separate. My guess is some Home Depot employee is enjoying a free drill.
