My complaint:
I choose to go to home depot for my kitchen remodel and it was the worse decision i have made.
I payed for the remodel on december 8, 2021. I was told it would take 5 to 7 weeks. while my cabinets would take a week to come in it was delayed by one week-which was fine. when delivered one cabinet, trim, kick plate and a shelf was missing. they couldn’t be found. they were reordered. when they came in i was still missing the shelf and two cabinets came in. I called Home Depot and let the expedited know. she had to reorder the shelf.
the cabinet installer let the supervisor know what needed to be done on his part.
the counter top company called me and said that the counter top was delayed again no problem. I waited two weeks for word from them and no word. I began calling multiple days with no answer from the count top company. I called at least 7 times a day. I then called the expeditIer and she stated she was having the same problem. she was able to finally able to get them by sending urgent e-mails. I instructed them to let me know what was in stock so I could change the type of counter top. they finally did. I choose the top they had in stock. The counter top company called and said that they would have to send out the person to retake measurements for the counters. Nothing had changed and I asked why and they told me because it was a different type of counter top. the guy came out to measure and said that it didn’t make sense to come out again because the measurements had not changed. but he checked the measurements again.
it was scheduled for the cabinet person to come on 221, counter tops on 222 and plumber on 223. on 221 I get a call from the counter top company that the installation has to be changed. when she asked me how I was doing I said good unless you are changing my installation date-she laughed and said yes that was why she was calling. when I told her that was unacceptable she laughed again stating that it had to be delayed. I called the expediter at home depot she ended up having to call the director of the counter top company and the installation was put back on the original date. they came and did the installation and took the measurements of the counter that was missing originally.
the plumber came the next day and hooked up the water, dish washer, and the garbage disposal. when he left my dish washer would not work I then noticed that the one drawer was sitting back about 12 inch from the rest of the cabinets and the one draw would not soft close and the seam on the counter top was very noticeable. I call Coleen at home depot and told her she said she would let brad know on 228. I still have not heard from anyone.
I am very disappointed in this whole experience with home depot. Coleen has been very nice and she was having the same problems with this remodel. I would have never thought I would have this disaster with Home Depot. It should be noted this remodel only required cabinet, counter top and plumbing installation. no floors or appliances and we hooked up the water to the refrigerator ourselves. this remodel was iniated on december 8, 2021 and it is 362022. and it still not completed.
the counter top company you are using don’t care about your customers and were difficult to not only deal with but hard to speak with. Home Depot is doing your company a disservice using them. they are creating more problems for your company. I have been out of work since 222022 and as difficult as it is to pay my home depot credit card I am but if I knew beforehand it was going to be like this I would not have done it. I will tell you this I just bought this house in 112021 and it needs many things to be done but I will not use Home Depot again and I will let others know about my experience
