Tesco complaint: unhelpful Manager

My complaint:

I purchased two packets ‘fresh’ cod fillets on 17.6.2022 sell by date was 18.6.2022 cost £4.00 each. I opened one packet when I got home and the smell of the fish was appalling. I put the fish from the opened packet in a bag and put it in my freezer with the unopened packet. I put the cut open packet in my black bin. I returned the fish today 19.6.22 only to be told by the manager that they could only refund me for the unopened packet and not the one opened because I did not take the stinking packet back. I think it is illegal for you to sell food that is not fit for human consumption.

Suggested solution:

I want a written apology from that rude manager who needs a course in communication skills and a full refund of the additional £4.00 I wasted on food that should not have been offered for sale in the first place I will never shop in Tesco again. I am a pensioner and have been a loyal customer for many years but did not expect this sort of treatment from a 'manager'
