Stop and Shop complaint: Rude and Questionable Competence

My complaint:

My wife and I were in checkout lane at approximately 3:12 PM today (1222022). The cashier scanned our items. When it was time to pay we gave him a $30 stop and shop card that we received on 1152022. A young female employee was behind us. They were talking about their upcoming break. We gave him the gift card that did not scan. The female employee advised him to input the numbers. He instead hit the flashing light for a manager to come to checkout lane 19. Now more customers were waiting, we decided to pay the bill in full which was $97.08. I gave the cashier $100. My wife said she had the 8 cents. The cashier totally ignored her and gave us the 2 bills and 92 cents. We have been stop and shop customers for years. We shop at the South Windsor stop and shop maybe every 2 months. We were appalled at the way were treated.

Suggested solution:

More customer service training is needed for both Christopher his female employee friend. Both were more concerned about their upcoming break than helping us. We have never had an issue before in any other Stop Shop.
