My complaint:

My husband and I tested positive for Covid-19 and went to Shoppers Drug Mart, located in 1033 Queens Street west, Toronto, for Paxlovid. We showed us positive result for rapid covid-19 Antigen test on the evening, Feb 10, 2023. They asked us to call them at home. On the phone, the pharmacist-Eugene Lee made wrong evaluation, when she accessed to my medical history. She refused to give me paxlovid, because she claimed that I have kidney failure, which I didn’t have. I explained the reason why I was taken to Emergency, due to the complication of my surgery two years ago. I am well health adult, I think she didn’t know how to properly read my medical history. I gave up. Then I called another pharmacy store nearby, the pharmacist was very professional and evaluated my health, gave very detail instruction about taking medication. It went smoothly. The pharmacist called me back in 15 minutes for pickup.

Then the pharmacist-Eugene Lee evaluated my husband, and asked him to provide his blood work. My husband is very healthy and never hospitalized. This was absurd. It’s first time to hear that a health adult needs blood work for paxlovid. My husband said no and asked why she needed it. She didn’t know how to answer it. Finally, she agreed to provide paxlovid. She didn’t tell when the paxlovid is ready. It took more than half an hours to get paxlovid ready for pickup.
