Shoppers Drug Mart complaint: Customer service pricing issue

My complaint:

I went to purchase “colour oops!” A product which removes unwanted direct dyes from hair. The price on the shelf was $18.99 (which is still insane but whatever that’s life in 2023 haha…) so I get to the front cash and they ring it up at $27.99 – I go woah woah woah can you come please take a look and for me that the price listed on the shelf is indeed $18.99- customer service staff member comes and s that price is $18.99 and says well the shelf price just got missed computer price trumps – I said really – that’s interesting – thought the customer was always right ? Certainly in this instance … and no not only was I met with opposition but no willingness to compromise on some kind of resolution to end the encounter on a positive note. For someone who has literally spend thousands of dollars (likely each YEAR) on items from shoppers I find this incredibly disappointing- not just the reality of items being priced wrong shit happens – but certainly you can honour that when someone brings it your attention AND the staff can it was listed wrong.

Anyways. Ya. I’m annoyed to say the least- I’ve worked in customer service 15 years and can’t imagine ever meeting a complaint with the absolute refusal to negotiate or problem solve as this staff member did.

Suggested solution:

What should of happened is that the price listed on shelf ($18.99 vs $27.99) should of been honoured at time of purchase - instead I walked out without a product I needed - and shoppers lost a sale.
