My complaint:

On 06 Aug 2021 I had oral surgery at a clinic in Brampton and was given a prescription for post surgery care, the surgeon used a pre printed script and had 3 medications already printed out and as we went through the pre surgery exam and discussion some pre exciting issues were discussed as well as other medications I was presently taking.
He decided to cross out one of the medications and substituted a preferable medication by hand writing in the medication he would substitute for the crossed out one.
I presented the prescription to the shoppers drug mart clerk and she took it to the pharmacist. A few minutes later the pharmacist Penelope Arnold called me to the counter and said she had some concerns about my prescription. I immediately explained I had a difficulty speaking because I was biting on surgical gauze as the surgery was only 30 minutes earlier and this was obviously the medication I would need to go home and recover.
She asked me to explain why I was being prescribed an antibiotic and I first told her I didn’t want that filled today but wanted the other two filled , she then questioned why one of the other medications was Hand written , and said that the medication had been spelled incorrectly.I tried to explain what brought about the circumstances that led to the surgeon changing the one medication but she immediately interrupted me and accused me of submitting a fraudulent prescription.
Before I could ask her to simply contact the doctors office to satisfy her concerns she threw the prescription back to me and walked away and told me I could take my business somewhere else
At this point I called my doctors office to have them phone the pharmacy and fax over a prescription so that I could go home and begin my post operative care.
Words do not begin to explain the upset I went through being accused of submitting a fraudulent prescription like some kind of drug addict and then being ignored by your staff behind the counter and then being forced to wait another 35 minutes after a 2nd prescription was faxed through to get my pain medication so that I could go home and begin my postoperative care.
This pharmacist is so unprofessional I am at a loss to begin to describe what I went through, I can’t imagine being in pain after a surgical procedure and being treated with such disrespect and disregard

Suggested solution:

Firstly I would like an explanation and apology from that pharmacist
As to why she felt it necessary to act in such a hostile and unprofessional manner
I would like to know what action shoppers drug mart will be taking to correct her unprofessional behaviour
