My complaint:
Royal Caribbean is a TERRIBLE company and I suggest no one cruise with them, here’s why:
In short, my daughter was:
1) thrown off the ship
2) left stranded 300 miles from home, crying and alone as nightfall approached
3) offered absolutely no assistance from their staff
4) told she would receive NO REFUND
All because their staff cannot tell the difference between a valid and
invalid Vaccine Card.
When my college aged daughter tried to board her cruise from Tampa to Mexico with three friends she was not allowed to board. Why? The geniuses Royal hires decided, WRONGLY, that her vaccine card was not valid. We gave them every evidence we could that it was valid, but it was a Saturday, so we could not reach the University Health Center where she received the vaccines or the CDC. Even though we provided them email evidence that she had appointments made for both doses, they told us that is not proof that she actually got the doses, and threw her off. IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE. MY DAUGHTER IS FULLY VACCINATED. They accused her of fraudulently altering the card to show a second vaccine dose they said she never received. because they don’t understand how to read the card. But she did receive it; so they implied she is a liar and criminal.
So, they forced her off the boat, left her LITERALLY STRANDED at the port with no assistance, crying and alone as nightfall approached. Then they had the nerve to give her a form letter stating they would not refund her money because it was HER fault! That letter suggests they must throw a bunch of people off every cruise for whatever reason, and not offer a refund!
After HOURS on the phone with their customer service folks they FINALLY agreed to give her a refund, although it will take 2-3 weeks to process! Her vacation was RUINED, I had to drive 9 hours to pick her up at the port and bring her home at 2AM.. Her 3 friends were left crying on the boat as my daughter was being removed.. FOUR vacations ruined.
Why would anyone do business with people so miserable?
