My complaint:
The length of time to wait for food was regularly over 2 hours. When you have children, this is unacceptable.
The wait for drinks was between 45-60 minutes, again, not acceptable.
When we asked for a manager to resolve this, she said we could eat fish n chips (which was 90 minute wait).
The app that we had to use was then disabled so we couldn’t go on and order anything. Everyone rushed to order at the bar, which then had an hour long queue…!
The final day of our visit we decided to go to Sainsburys and buy our own food. There were 27 in our party (7 caravans) so this was not ideal at all.
Also, at one stage on Saturday night the doorman was operating a one inone out policy. This is a major concern when 2 of our children were not allowed in to sit with their parents. Absolutely ridiculous behaviour, stopping children sitting with their family.
The swimming pool was booked out all holiday, so the 10 kids we had with us could not swim at all. Ok, we will use the splash park…nope, this was not being used !? No explanation…!
The final nail was that half of the food was out of stock too. Surely for one of the busiest weekends of the year, this is poor planning.
Suggested solution:
Firstly, ensure you have enough staff to deal with the number of people on site.
Secondly, ensure you have enough food to cook !!!
I very much doubt Parkdean Resorts will care much. They took over £4000 off of us, but offered absolutely nothing in compensation during our stay. Lots of young boys and girls apologising for the issues. None of which were ever really resolved.
Considering the amount of money spent there, I would fully expect a decent amount refunded as we spent more time off site as nothing was open, or we couldnt order food in a reasonable time.
Bearing in mind we have been to Camber Sands for about 6 years previously, this was the last time.
