My complaint:
I booked a week here ages ago as my family got a last minute availability and thought it would be great to meet up. Decided to book an extra week as it was ideally located to the beaches. First week, cost £190. Received an email a week later saying that had been taken over, cost of second week now a whopping £400 plus. Ok I thought, it’s last minute, the whole world wants to go to Cornwall so go with it, thinking that we’d be staying in some kind of lovely site, how wrong was I?
This place has the potential to be ideal and perfect if only a few (massive) issues were sorted. Twice this week I have been to reception to complain about the state of the bathrooms being in such a dire state- not cleaned, no toilet roll, bars of soap (are we in the 1800’s??) and sanitary bins over flowing. The second time I went up to complain, I asked about their COVID policy as there obviously isn’t one. There is a distinct lack of alcohol gel points or hand washing facilities. The cleaning sheet has not been signed since Wednesday morning (it’s now Sunday) The showers are disgusting and if you dare to do some washing in the laundry room, do not drop anything on the floor, it’s gross. It quite clearly has not been cleaned for weeks. There are plastic wash bags down the sides of the machines, there are only two washers and dryers available at a cost of £5 and £2.50.
The chef quit the week before we came so no food, the shop stocks plenty of overpriced rubbish and it’s obvious the place is short staffed. There are no security patrols so if you don’t mind some loud banging music going on into the night leading to no sleep then you will love it here.
The WiFi into the lower field was fixed this week but it cost £8 for the week but good luck getting a signal all the time, it’s a rip off.
As previously stated, it’s a free for all unless like I found out today you are a group of five families that complain loud enough to head office that the owner is told to come and stake out five pitches. Worth noting, if it’s good enough for one it’s good enough for all.
We left six days early as the whole camp was down to one working toilet, no running water and no electric, it was an appallingly disgusting mess. The toilets couldn’t flush so they’re were full of human waste and smelt disgusting, not a place to take a 4 year old.
Suggested solution:
I am asking for the six days refund if my stay, not the miserly £100 they have offered.
