My complaint:

My family and my self arrived at Southerness holiday park on Friday 25th September for 3 nights.

As my Mum and Dad have both been shielding I entered the caravan first to give it a once over with antibacterial surface spray. I was horrified by the cleanliness of the caravan it looked like it have not been touched since the other people had left.

We found hair on the bedroom floor along with a make up brush, hair in the bathroom, coffee stains on all the mugs in the cupboard, the frying pan was so dirty it did not look like it had been cleaned after it’s last use, scum marks around the taps in the bath room, there was a bottle of something left in the shower, marks in the mattress, there was sheets left on top of the wardrobe which I thought were extras… no they had been there for a long time they were covered in dust, there was dog nose marks on the windows, a half eaten sweetie in the drawer in the bedroom, tickets from the arcade which had been left on the self in the living room and just general stains on the work tops. (I have taken photos of all of the above so I can supply all the photos as evidence if you need it. I can only attach one at the moment)

Our park passes were in the caravan when we arrived but we had 4 adults and 4 children’s however we had 5 adults and no children, thankfully we did not need to use these as we did not go out but this is just lazy look at the booking reference to see what passes are required for the party arriving.

We phoned security as reception was closed and asked them to come with a hover, the man was very good and hovered the whole caravan again for us.

This is our second time to this site as we enjoyed it so much the first time we decided to book again a second time, we had every intention of booking again for next year but we are very apprehensive now after this time. In the height of a pandemic I expected the standard to be so much better than it was, very disappointing.

Suggested solution:

Cleanliness should be your top priority to keep your customers safe, I would suggest giving the cleaning teams more time or additional supportworkers during this challenging time when standards should be at their peak.

Like I said we were keen to book again for next year but now I am not sure if we should go else where.
