My complaint:
I purchase tickets from Opodo
from Edinburgh to MAdrid with Iberia
And from MAdrid to Edinburgh with EasyJet
On the ation email from Opodo my name
D T Cumming was spelt correctly.
I checked in for the easy jet flight and printed boarding pass with the correct name .
When I try to do the same for the Iberia flight I noticed that my name appeared on the ticket as David TMR Cumming.
I phoned Iberia and was advised that they were not allowed to make changes to names on tickets because when tickets had been bought from Opodo. I was advised to get this changed otherwise there was a strong chance of not being allowed on the plane. I immediately called opodo
But after holding for 2 hours and 10 minutes I decided to email them on what they called “premium service” . I got an email
Back (see below) saying that they would be in contact this was on Sunday the 18th. As I had not heard from them by yesterday Thursday the 22nd I phoned Iberia again saying that I was panicking as I could not contact Opodo. I was told the same thing that they could not help me. I tried on Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday to phone Opodo several times each day and there was never any answer. In view of this I felt that I could not risk getting to the airport and not being let on the plane so I had to purchase another ticket this time direct with airline . I have tried to phone them today to see if I can get a refund for the original ticket but I am unable to do so.
My wife is Spanish she has not been to Spain nor has she seen her family for 18 months, we are going this Sunday the 25th to celebrate her 60th and I felt I had no choice but to buy another ticket to be sure that we all got away together. Opodo received my email but did not bother to reply despite being at fault by making a mistake with my name . It is extremely frustrating that you can not contact them . Please could you help us make a formal complain and try to get our money back for the original ticket many thanks

They should refund the original ticket from Edinburgh to MAdrid where they spelt my name wrong on the ticket
