NordVPN complaint: Harassment via emails. Elder abuse.

My complaint:

About two years ago I signed up with Nord VPN on a special trial basis. After three months of trying to get the Nord VPN to work and trying to seek support from its support team I decided to disable automatic renewal. Nord VPN‘s‘ Own terms of service State that if one wants to cancel their subscription all they have to do is disable auto renew which I did after only three months of trying to get it to work with no success. Suddenly a couple months ago I started getting emails from Nord VPN support which contends that I owe the company money. Remember, this is almost 2 years after I started my service. When I protested I got an email from Nord VPN telling me that I had to prove who I was by giving all kinds of personal information especially how I paid my service. I was outraged because I have the same email address that I used when I signed up and the credit card that I use to sign up became invalid about a year and a half ago because the bank that issue the credit card was bought by another bank and issued me another credit card. I cut up the first credit card and have no record of its number or anything related to it. I responded to Nord VPNs support via email telling them that I had disabled my auto renew almost 2 years ago and hadn’t used your service successfully at all because I couldn’t get it to work. I just got another email today, July 22, 2022 making the same accusations that somehow I owe them money. I don’t in Norton VPN cannot prove that I actually successfully used any of their services since I initiated my subscription. The fact that Nord VPN keeps sending me harassing emails is very upsetting. I’m 76 years old and crippled and Nord VPN to continue this specious activity would be considered elder abuse. I will file a complaint with the FCC if complain.biz cannot resolve the issue. I will also sue the company personally for harassing someone as old as I am.

Suggested solution:

Just have Nord VPN stop sending me emails with false claims that somehow I owe them money. Have Nord VPN stop sending me emails of any type. I disabled automatic renewal three months after signing up directly with the company not through a third-party and as per their own terms of service to cancel subscriptions all that needs to be done is to disable auto renew. For Nord VPN to be doing this is outrageous.

Hello Ashley, sorry to hear you were not satisfied with our service. From the information you've provided, we see that indeed you have an active subscription with auto-renewal disabled, so the service won't renew after expiry. However, as we charge all payments upfront for the whole subscription period, it is not possible that you would owe us anything nor that we would send such emails. With that being said, please check if these emails are not from someone trying to impersonate our brand in an attempt to fraud you. If you are not sure, you can always contact our support team at support@nordvpn.com and send any proof to verify. Hope this helps and stay safe!
