My complaint:
I am a family member of an incarcerated person at SMCI. South Mississippi has been under an extreme heat advisory for nearly 60 days. There is no air conditioning in the inmate housing at this facility. Mr. Cain stated the department would work on getting air conditioning in the housing units last year but no progress has been made. This heat is dangerous for the staff as well as the inmates. Some of the inmates have medical conditions that may worsen in extreme heat not to mention the speared of bacteria and viruses. Can someone contact me with a response.
