My complaint:

This email is in response to a situation of racism that I encountered at McCalisters Deli – Jeffersonville, IN 47130. On 2/5/24 at 7pm, I went to the restaurant to place an order inside. As I waited patiently, a Caucasian female woman that was already eating, walked directly in front of me and went to the counter. The cashier provided her with not only a refill but allowed her to place an order for a cookie.
I informed the cashier how inappropriate and unfair it was that this white woman was able to cut in front of me and place an a order. I was extremely angry and upset because this was a situation of pure racism.
I didn’t not place and order and I immediately left. I called and spoke the manager (Brandon) who informed me that he was aware of the situation and that it is “McCalisters policy to provide a customer that was already served a refill and make an order regardless of who is waiting prior”. He further stated that the goal was to not make the already served customer upset.
I request to speak with the district manager for this establishment immediately to address this issue. In the meantime, I will be filing a complaint with the U.S Attorney’s Office and the Indiana Civil Rights Commission for direct discrimination.

Suggested solution:

I demand a phone call to address this issue.
