My complaint:

Banner Elk Lowes. The online inventory of Boone Lowes hadn’t been updated in so long and stated that they were out of water heaters, so I went to Banner Elk’s Lowes. They had one heater left and the box was slightly damaged. However, an employee reassured me that the product is just as new as any other after opening the box to inspect it. The manager, Kellie, came over when we were checking it out to double check it as well. Now, soon after I opened the product and gave it a go, the pipes turned out to be broken and rustedcorroded. The machine was also making a sound that water heaters shouldn’t be making. I called Lowe’s and they made it clear that water heaters have a 30 day return policy, which it was within, as long as I had a receipt to bring to the store. They’ve also said that I should try to call AO Smith. The agents at AO Smith told me that Lowe’s has sold me a used product, as a new product shouldn’t be corroded like that. So I went to talk to Lowe’s customer service, only to be denied a refund aggressively by the assistant manager. I had a receipt, I’ve explained what AO Smith has clarified, I was patient.

This Lowe’s sold me a product that’s condition was not new. If a water heater’s lifetime is 20 years, I’ll be scammed of my money (~$2000 in total for this project) and it would last about 6 years because of the corrosion.

Suggested solution:

The least I can ask for is for them to replace my heater completely and help take out the old one, or provide me with a refund.
