Loblaws complaint: No refund provided on birthday card

My complaint:

A card was purchased in error and when i returned to obtain a refund or buy a new card which i ended up doing was told i could not receive a refund as it was considered seasonal. How is a birthday card considered seasonal?? I have written to Loblaws with no response. I understand this is not a crazy amount but it is the principle of it. No signage is indicated where the card was purchased nor on my receipt.

Would be greatly appreciated if i could receive a refund on a card that has no use to me. Also, advise the store that it should be refundable since it is not a seasonal card, i.e. Christmas card, or mothers day card....
