Kaspas Desserts complaint: Poor customer service

My complaint:

1. Told over the phone about what Kaspas offer for kids birthdays (happy birthday song from staff, a lit candle and free shake or cake) however this wasn’t the case. My son was only given a shake and only this!! He wasn’t allowed to choose any VIP shakes as this wasn’t apart of the birthday offer.
None of the staff seem bothered at all. I also had to provide a birth certificate to prove he was 11 years old, which I find ridiculous and embarrassing as to say I was lying over a few pounds just to get a shake or a cake?? Considering he had an 11th birthday badge on and ballon? I don’t know who would go that far just to get a free shake or cake if they were lying.

2. Was given all of our food and we had thought cutlery would be provided for, however after nearly a 10 minute wait we realised no cutler was coming…. So I had to get up and ask for cutlery for my 4 year old to eat his Bubblicious Sunday and so forth for everyone else, bare in mind we had ordered waffles etc….. £50 bill

3. We never knew the policy on bringing outside drinks into the restaurant (flavoured water). But when approached about it we accepted it and proceeded to put these away, as we was doing so the waiter had ask us to give him all of our drinks so he can store around the back until we leave? Of course I rejected straight away due to the recent Covid-19 stuff going on at present, the fact he asked us to do this is baffling to me and topped my overall experience at Kaspas yesterday considering I’ve been to this restaurant many times i was confused as to how shocking the customer service and birthday experience was. This almost felt as if all they cared about was the money and nothing else.

4. I have an 8month old baby who has a Dairy intolerance and as shown in the picture (which I can send separately) I believe cross contamination has occurred. I will take this further if I need to.

5. Was told by manager very rudely I can’t have 2 discounts on one order. (Student discount birthday freebie) now I don’t know if this is true but at the time I accepted it.

I have been here plenty of times before as I live in Weston but yesterday wasn’t a pleasant experience at all for myself or my son who had thought he would have been treated a little more “special”

There is a few other things I could say but to be honest I just can’t be bothered with it all, I’m not happy at all and neither is my 11year old son who thought the least he was going to get was a happy birthday song. I honestly Wish I never spent his birthday at this specific Kaspas!!!
