My complaint:
I would like to expose by this means the situation that Gate io has caused in my situation and in that of others.
According to the FCA, it prohibited FCA bans the sale of crypto-derivatives to retail consumers on 10/06/2020 since derivatives are mostly manipulated instruments, and not acts for retailers, ! And even so, GATE IO continued to offer them to the citizens of the United Kingdom, for which, like many, I ended up with great losses, and that is why I contacted them 16 weeks, in order to have an early consolation, since they did not comply with the FCA order and continued to offer this instrument to retail customers.
Then they answered me We will pass this on to the corresponding department and I gave them time, and no one contacted me! According to the FCA, every institution that offers these types of products must have a compliance officer, or department if they want to offer in countries that are regulated like UK , and they must also contact a client that they believe has I have been the victim of oversight of said institution, but from my experience gate io does not have that compliance officer, since it has been almost 4 months, more than enough time which is recommended by uk regulator to answer customers!
Apart from this, the total loss is reflected on my platform, and once I made the complaint, it no longer appears, which allows me to see that they eliminated it, but knowing that they could do this, I made a video of my account, where you can see my negative balance, and in the financial instruments they were.
So the report will be passed to the competent authorities in the UK since the citizens of this country are protected by the regulations of these institutions, which leaves me with the concern that these people do not answer, it is because they do not have a compliance officer And if so, what security do you offer your customers? and to their funds???, can be another ftx?
Suggested solution:
Firstly to be in contact with compliance if they have, and then to retorn the losses as its was illegal to offer them to me at this time.
