My complaint:

On January 20, my family and I were scheduled to travel from Sao Paulo, to Cape Town, South Africa, with a layover in Johannesburg, South Africa, using the services of LATAM Airlines and South African Airways. However, our experience was severely affected due to a situation that we believe was completely avoidable and attributable to a lack of transparency on the part of your company. Upon arriving at the Sao Paulo airport to board our connecting flight to Johannesburg, we were surprised that we did not comply with a mandatory requirement to enter the country for the yellow fever vaccine. This crucial information was never clearly or explicitly communicated to us when purchasing our airline tickets. In the document provided by you, it only mentions the need to present our passports. As a result of this lack of information, we were left in Brazil and had to find our own way back home to Peru, which not only meant missing the scheduled flight, but also the inability to carry out our planned itinerary in Cape Town.

This situation not only caused us a significant loss of time and resources, but also unnecessary stress and considerable disappointment, especially for my young children.

Suggested solution:

A full refund of the tickets purchased for the Sao Paulo-Johannesburg-Cape Town flight, due to the lack of accurate and complete information provided

Additional compensation for damages suffered, including the cost of planned activities and visits in Cape Town that we were unable to undertake, as well as the stress and discomfort experienced as a direct result of your company's negligence.
