My complaint:
My sister booked 3 Airline tickets to Canada for her and her son and me.
The FC agent booked out tickets without it s having visas and knowing that it could take up to 12 months to get Canadian visas.
When we applied for our Visas with a visa agency, the Agency mentioned that the FC was not supposed to book tickets for Canada without visas.
We waited 7 months for our Visas and had to pay approx R30k in cancellation fees and the difference in the cost of the new fights
The FC Agent then booked us tickets via Heathrow to CT where we clearly specified that we wanted to fly via Frankfurt.
The agent then changed the fight bookings to go via Frankfurt and apparently she had to take the responsibility of the cost on this.
The Agent booked my sister and her son,’s tickets from JHB to Frankfurt.
My sister had to pay for separate return tickets for her and her son from CT to JHB which was another additional cost that my sister had to pay due to FC errors.
On my sister’s recent return from Canada as she checked in at Toronto airport, the system bookings showed that no luggage bags was allocated to her on her booking by FC. She then had to pay CAD389 (Canadian dollars) which was approx R5000 to pay for her luggage. Again another cost she had to pay for FC error.
Suggested solution:
Because we had to reschedule our flight dates I was not able to accompany my sister at end Sept 2023 to Canada as I I am due to travel in a few months in Feb 2024 to Canada. I have sent an email on Monday to Nathan October, the Manager at FC Century City and to date he has not replied.
In my email sent Monday 16 October, I requested FC to follow up on all my flights booked that I was allocated 2 bags per flight as I was not going pay any additional costs for luggage like my sister did. I am still waiting on a reply.
