While shopping at the store I witnessed several employees (and a Frito-Lay vendor) wearing their masks WITH THEIR NOSES FULLY EXPOSED.
I questioned the cashier who told me she only pulls it up when she’s at the register. (BTW, the FritoLay worker gave me a full argument as to why he doesn’t need to cover his nose while working in your store. IS THAT OK WITH YOU?). When I asked the cashier how to contact corporate, she claimed she didn’t know because she just started working there.
I walked away, but returned a few minutes later to find her (back turned the door, so she did know I was there) talking to someone on the phone about our encounter and how she had told me she didn’t know who to contact! When she saw me she claimed she was talking to herself! REALLY?
DOES FAMILY DOLLAR INSTRUCT ITS EMPLOYEES ON HOW TO WEAR MASKS FOR THE SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC. DOES FAMILY DOLLAR HAVE A MASK POLICY FOR VENDORS IN THEIR STORES?
I am a diabetic senior who frequents that store regularly during the weekdays without issue. I’ve appreciated its convenience as it’s on the route of my a.m. 2 mile walk. HOWEVER, if the company does not hold its employees and vendors accountable for following masking rules; and if there are no consequences for disregarding customer safety, I must stop shopping there. IF YOUR COMPANY IS NOT CONCERNED ABOUT CUSTOMER SAFETY ENOUGH TO ENFORCE PROPER MASK PROTECTION, LET THE PUBLIC KNOW!
The employee should be..
Educated about proper mask wearing. Reminded that the nose is, indeed part of the respiratory system! Cover it!
Reprimanded for not wearing the mask properly
Reprimanded for lying to a customer with a complaint who asks how to contact corporate offices.
Reprimanded to sharing our encounter with anyone on the phone AS IF IT WAS FUNNY THAT I ASKED ABOUT MASK WEARING THAT SHE TOLD ME SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHO I COULD COMPLAIN TO.
I should be contacted asap regarding your intentions on resolving this issue.
