My complaint:

I went with my mother to watch AIR at 4.15pm on Sunday 30th April 2023 at EVERYMAN CHELMSFORD. About 30 min in the movie a tall young drunk guy walked in and using abusing language, saying F this and F that and calling another guy on the back a C continually telling the rest of the auditorium to shut up, threatened to beat everyone up and provoked that guy to walk outside and that he would beat him to pulp. The movie was paused and the lights remained off. My mother, 72, nearly had a heart attack. This lasted for 10min. I called 999, not knowing how the situation would develop, but as soon as I did, the manager (?) a very young guy walked in, went to the couple that the drunk guy was abusing, and sat down, saying he needed to do so. He did not comfort the auditorium, explained anything, nor said we were out of danger. Only after we asked him, he said the police was called and the situation was under control. He didnt apologise nor offered any water or compensation for the disturbance of the movie. The movie restarted eventually. I am very unhappy about the lack of safety and emergency procedures. We felt very upset and very unsafe.

Suggested solution:

The least they can do is compensate the tickets (2) value, or a gift voucher, and a written apology reassurance of the existence of safety and emergency procedures.
