My complaint:
Etsy deleted my account and changed my email address without my consent simply because I was trying to take steps to stop someone from hacking my account. When I managed to reopen the account they deleted everything including items I recently purchased on their website that have yet to be delivered. Customer service cares nothing about buyers problems, is extremely difficult to contact and has no phone number to speak to anyone directly. If the problem isn’t on the help page don’t even bother to contact them. They most likely will just delete your account if they get tired of hearing from you. I also don’t think it’s a very secure website and appears to be easily hacked. That’s what happened in my case, and all Etsy did was close my account. In frustration and to prevent any further damage to my personal information I permanently closed my account. This would have been unnessary had they supplied a phone number to contact a support person to speak with.
Suggested solution:
At least contact me via email and offer an apology. If they want my business, however, they need to provide a customer support phone number. Until that happens, I won't bother with them again.
