My complaint:
I purchased a ticket for travel from Bangalore to Abu Dhabi with Etihad, and then from Abu Dhabi to Canada with Royal Jordanian. Prior to my journey, I sought clarification on the need for a transit visa during the layover in Abu Dhabi from Etihad, and they assured me that it was unnecessary for a 3-hour layover. Despite this, my application for a transit visa with Etihad was rejected, with the explanation that no visa was required for a 3-hour layover.
Upon arriving in Bangalore, I was denied boarding as I allegedly lacked a transit visa, contradicting Etihad’s earlier ation. Consequently, I missed the flight, had to reschedule at a financial loss of approximately 5 lakhs, and despite filing complaints, neither airline addressed my concerns nor provided a refund. Considering the circumstances, I am contemplating legal action against both Etihad and Royal Jordanian.
Suggested solution:
I expect a reasonable solution in this matter.
