My complaint:
I am writing this email to complain about Ethiopian Airlines (Addis Ababa Bole International Airport) Lost and Found Department [Flight No.: 0719751220069; Booking Reference: IWYISF]. More than 5 months ago I enquired with Ethiopian Airlines (Addis Ababa Bole International Airport) Lost and Found Department about my Hewlett Packard (HP) Envy model dark grey laptop, which I lost on 28th June 2023 in the Addis Ababa airport security check area- between transiting from Ethiopian Airlines flight ET605 (approximately 07.15am) from Beijing, to Ethiopian Airlines flight ET809 (approximately 08.40am) going to Johannesburg.
I am sure I misplaced or forgot my HP laptop in this security check area, and I am desperate to get it back, as it has vital work research information of mine.
In my initial email to them- I attached identifying photos of my HP Envy model dark grey laptop, as well as my contact and residence details in Beijing .
The Lost and Found Department then contacted me in response, ing they had my laptop, and asked me to supply a serial number or password. I replied with my laptop password and residence and contact details in Beijing.
I have since sent three follow up emails to the individuals that had replied from the Lost and Found Department (ADDLOSTANDFOUND@ethiopianairlines.com) but I have yet to receive any kind of reply or follow up from them. If needed, I can forward this correspondence to verify my complaint.
I later complained to Ethiopian Customer Relations, Complaint No.-0000161011, but after two response emails from them 2 months ago- asking me to wait for further investigation- I have heard nothing again from them since then. Again, if needed, I can forward this correspondence to verify my complaint.
Could someone please urgently assist me regarding this issue? I feel that my laptop has obviously been stolen by Ethiopian Airline employees, while my complaints are ignored by other Ethiopian Airlines employees. I expect Ethiopian Airlines to take responsibility for its employees criminal actions, and, if my laptop cannot be recovered- offer me some recognition and compensation for my loss.
