My complaint:
Hi! I’m disgusted with Duke Energy. I been trying hard to keep the payments. But I am now on budget billing and have to pay installment payment together which is $203 I can’t even make that amount. Because I am on a limited income. I can’t help with the cost of everything going up. But they said if I don’t pay the installment of 84$ Then they said I have to pay the full amount $414 In which I don’t have. It is upsetting because I try to get Lheap and other agencies to help. But you have to wait on them to help. But not on time. It just cause me great anxiety because they said. They would shut off my electricity and have to pay the full amount of $414 if I break the contract of the installment payments. This makes me angry 😡. Because I get a small amount from disability. To them to threaten me what they would do to me if I don’t pay that installment payments. Nobody should go through that ordeal. But they need to be more like Con Edison Electric Company. Because their installment plan is less especially budget billing. I am just tired of it. They should lower the bill to spread out a lot better
Suggested solution:
They should lower my installment bill plan to $140 instead $203. But they said, They can’t do that. Because as I said if I break the contract I have to pay the full amount plus my budget billing. It would be 503. I am worried this month as it is. Afraid not to have the $203 . It just upsets me. Because I never had a struggle to pay the electric on time.
