Direct Express complaint: INADEQUATE INVESTIGATION OF DISPUTE INTO STOLEN FUNDS

My complaint:

Direct Express sent a Debit Card to an address I no longer resided. The instruction from Social Security was to deposit my benefits into my already active account which I held the debit card. The card was taken from the mailbox activated and the funds were withdrawn at multiple ATM machines and used for purchases at a Walmart Department Store. The dispute was filed on 05262020 as I had been contacting Direct Express since the first of the month where are my benefits? as my existing account still remained at $0.31 and Social Security insisted the funds were deposited to Direct Express. Finally I was able to get ahold of the Treasury Department and the deposit was tracked to Direct Express . However, the unauthorized account which was setup only had $16.00 remaining out of $1240.00 because the debit card was sent to an address I no longer resided at. I filed the Dispute the same day. Weeks went by and I am requesting updates to no avail and finally I am told by Direct Express phone center the investigation was completed and they found NO ERROR equating to I will not be reimbursed. This determination is IMPOSSIBLE therefore an investigation could not have occured. A real investigation would have yielded photos from the withdrawels made at several ATM’s and suveeillance footage would have been rendered from Walmart known for their world class security at cash registers.. And, with this proof an investigation would have been launched to identify the individual{s} who stole my benefit funds resulting in federal charges of confiscating U.S. mail and stealing federal funds.

THERE IS NOTHING BUT INADEQUACY RUNNING THIS FEDERAL PAYMENT PROGRAM WHICH IS CAUSING DEVASTATING PROBLEMS FOR THEIR CLIENTS.

Suggested solution:

There is only one resolution and that will be to refund my account $1,226.00 the amount stolen from me.
