Direct Express complaint: Excessive charges

My complaint:

I live in N.ireland and try to take my monthly money out as cash from the atm. I have been unable to do this several times, as there seems to be a block on my card almost every month. If i cannot get cash with my card, as I should have that choice, then I am forced to buy items with my card. If I take out cash, then I am only charged once for that transaction, but if I buy items, I am forced to pay fees every time I purchase an item, which has over time amounted to alot of money. I was told before by a manager, that I would hsve the fees returned, but it never materialised. I should have a right and do have the right to access my benefit as cash. I should not be thwarted, or have to incur extra fees, because I can’t use my card as I choose and I’m forced to make grocery purchases, as opposed to one cash withdrawal fee. I believe this is in breach of the terms of the card, and I want the fees returned to my card, from the beginning of the card transactions. I will be in contact with better buisness bureau if this matter is not resolved. I have a right to access my money on my terms and shouldn’t have only the ability to make grocery purchases, unless you are denying me this service.

I also wish to subject access all phone calls made from my account to direct express. This should not be a problem, as all calls are recorded.

Suggested solution:

Return fees associated with my card.
