My complaint:

Hello, I called the CVS Pharmacy on 10212022 to check on my prescription due to it stating that it was on hold when I checked the status on my CVS app. A young lady, who I am familiar with because I do frequent the store and the pharmacy, was very rude and disrespectful and hung up on me in the process. She is a young black female and I believe she is the only African American that works this area. I am African American myself, so I am definitely not being racist. During the conversation, I proceeded to ask her about the status of my medication and why it was on hold. She asks me did I know the dosage of the medication and I told her no, I did not. She went on to say well we can’t fill it because there is no dosage on the medication and why wouldn’t you know what you are taking and said it in a very disrespectful manner. I indicated that I would find out the dosage and how to take the medication once I receive it as I always do. I also explained to her that it should be a dosage because I just saw in on the app when I looked it up however, I did not remember it. She continued to go back and forth with me, and I asked her why she was speaking to me this way and if there was not a dosage on the medication, she could have just informed me of this, and I would have contacted my doctor but speaking to me this was very unacceptable and unnecessary. Well, she hung up on me. I called back and she answered, and I asked to speak with her manager because I did not appreciate her hanging up on me. She left me on hold for about 3 minutes and returned to the phone stating her manager was not there but did tell me that I needed to get a PA for my medication through my doctor’s office. I preceded to tell her OK and thank you, but I will be coming to the store to address her rude behavior. The pharmacist is usually very pleasant at this location however this young lady and there is an older lady who works in the pharmacy at times that are very rude to the customers. Many customers are foreigners who don’t speak very good English but are still due respect. It breaks my heart at times to hear the way they are spoken too but I mind my business. I would really appreciate if this situation was address with this young lady and all those involved to ensure nothing like this happens, not only to me but no one else in the future. Everyone is deserving to be treated with dignity and respect. My name is Pam Johnson, and I can be reached at (502)807-6704 if there is any additional information needed. My email address is pamelad.johnson@ky.gov

Thank You
Pam Johnson

Suggested solution:

When I know that this young lady has been address and understands that everyone deserves respect and her nasty and rude attitude will not be tolerated. Customers service is everything and if she cannot provide quality customer service while representing CVS, she may need to find another job. In my opinion, working in a pharmacy is very important because you are providing those who are dealing with some type of issues, and you never know their state of mind. Therefore, it should be important that everyone is treated polite, pleasant, and with dignity and respect.

Pam, thanks for sharing. I swear, the situation that you described just happened with the pharmacist at my local CVS in MA. When I asked the “rude” person that I was speaking to if I could please speak with the manager manager/pharmacist I was informed that quote “I AM THE PHARMACIST AND MANAGER!” in the same aggressive and rude manner. I informed Customer Service but other than that I feel like all of my questions and concerns fall on deaf ears!!! Other than leaving CVS for a different pharmacy I am at a loss!!!
GOOD LUCK!!! 🤞 🤞 🤞
