My complaint:
I had the worst experience with Cubesmart.
Initially, I reserved an storage in a size I needed that also had a good price, when I went to see the storage I reserved, they told me it wasn’t available so they assigned me another unit slightly bigger than the one I picked. I asked about the price and they told me, It was going to be the same of the unit I reserved as It was their mistake and that they only increase prices once a year and, that my price was going to be fixed as negotiated at the moment of signing the contract.
Six months later they increased the price 23.19%. I didn’t receive any notice from Cubesmart, even though they told me they sent it via mail. I never got it. Now, a year has passed and they increased the price again in 26.79%. again no notice… I called to pay Jan 12 and they already had my invoice with the increment. The manager told me she didn’t understand why a notice wasn’t sent, then the very next day they sent the notice with a date of issue Jan 13… during a year and a half, we got a total rise in the price of 56.2%. That is too much and after several calls to try to explain that to the district manager, she call me almost one month later to tell me there is nothing she can do about it and that I should contract with another facility with better prices and vacate.
Then I got another storage with a better price, but my husband got sick and we couldn’t vacate by myself, they didn’t care about his health, even though, I had all the proof of his health issue, they charged me the new price. So with this complaint, I would like that they refund me the extra charge and that price I had at the beginning of the year, remains for this month as I’m vacating soon.
