My complaint:
So I’m going to get beer at my local Circle K. I’m buying a quantity because it’s on sale. My 75 yo neighbor ask me if I need some help. I thought, sure I’m buying a lot so my handicapped ass could use some.
We get 6 fifteen packs and set them on the counter.
Dumbass Clerk (DC) asks me for ID. No problem, I whip out my ID.
DÇ, I need his ID too.
My neighbor didn’t bring it with him.
DC, I can’t sell you the beer unless he has ID.
He’s not buying it I am.
DC, it doesn’t matter, he touched it.
So I say, fine I’ll be right back.
So I take my kind 75 yo neighbor home and go back.
Ok, I took the guy helping my 67 yo handicapped ass home and returned.
DC, You still can’t buy it because you tried earlier. It was like living in an episode of Green Acres.
BTW I was dealing with the manager.
This is a store I have frequented for almost 40 years. Even before it was a Circle K. As I told her, I will never return to your store.
Suggested solution:
Retrain your employees. There's absolutely no common sense being used. Blind compliance may make your job easier, but you will lose long time customers like me.
