Booking.com complaint: poor communication regarding receiving wrong thing

My complaint:

I recently booked a stay through booking.com. when we attended the hotel they gave us the wrong room. I paid for a double bed room, and we received two single beds, we was also unable to push the beds together as the layout of the room and a feature in the wall. when we spoke to the reception they mentioned on an email that booking.com informed the hotel my booking was for 2 singles. however when I looked on the booking it says a double bed. the hotel said they could assist however we would have to check out at 11am and wait until 4pm later that day to swap rooms. as booking.com got our reservation wrong. we was unable to swap rooms as we could not and was not waiting around for 5 hours in the streets with our luggage. we had places that we booked as we was on a short holiday and didn’t have any spare time. we should not even have to do this anyway. so I contacted booking.com and they informed me I was unable to leave the hotel any review and they did not even try to resolve anything on my behalf.

Suggested solution:

I would like a refund as we did not get what we paid for and we would like them to acknowledge that they made a booking mistake and we should not have to deal with their mistakes.
