My complaint:
My fiancee had arranged to take me out to the big easy establishment on Saturday the 7th of august 2021 for my birthday celebration this was also our first post lockdown meal as we both work for the emergency services and have been very busy with the current pandemic.
On arrival we were shown to our seats and the waitress we were assigned was friendly and accommodating.
after our meal i presented an online voucher from www.vouchergains.co.uk clearly stating 20% OFF for NHS STAFF during the month of august.
The waitress explained that she was new and was unaware of how to apply any discounts and that she would have to find a more experienced member of staff.
shortly after we were approached by 2 men who seemed very confrontational i showed them the voucher and asked if they would accept it. They said they do not accept any discounts but would call the owner of the restaurant to check.
very shortly after 1 of the men returned and stated he had called the owner and he has said he does not accept any discounts and that the website in fact was wrong for advertising such an offer.
The bill had came in at £82.30 we had visited beleaving that the voucher would have been honored and had not been as expensive with the 20% discount. we had to remove the service charge as we did not expect the meal to cost so much however we would like to add that the waitress was very helpful and polite.
further more we have found multiple other sites advertising the same offer and all on reportable sites i have read the small print and there is no mention of Saturday’s or peak times.
we feel very let down and frustrated as well as annoyed that we were treated in such a way.

could you please explain the reason that this was not honoured and where big easy as chain stand on supporting the emergency services.
