My complaint:

I am a foreigner living in Marseille who can speak enough French to Order a pizza. I subscribed to basic fit under a year contract knowing the répercussions with the help of a French friend to explain to me. However when the continuous lockdowns started, due to Corona, I wanted to stop. I had an impression that since Macron imposed a lockdown, all institutions put a pause on monthly charges. I remember I was sent an email asking my choice if I wanted to continue paying basic fit and utilise their online app. I opted for no. With that I assumed that my account would not be charged. I recently checked my account and I saw I was charged all the months. In my account I only went to the gym 13 times and was charged for 13 months so I paid. 24.99 per entrance of the gym. This is absurd.

I filed a complaint and this is what they told me:

“Si aucune demande de suspension n’a été faite , vous ne pourrez pas bénéficier ‘un remboursement et ce même si vous n’avez pas utilisé votre abonnement”

I checked my email for any such email asking me for the cancellation and I received nothing….
