My complaint:
We received an travel advisory on 12-19-22 to change our flight since bad weather was going to impact Chicago on our date of travel 12-23-22. We went online through our American Airlines App and made the changes to fly on 12-22-22 connecting through Dallas.
We entered our credit card number for the change and when we traveled believing American Airlines would honor no fees or charges to change flights due to American Airlines Travel Advisory. We are now stuck with and additional charge of over $500. I am a lifetime gold member having flown over 2 million miles and my wife is now flying American regularly from San Diego to Cleveland. American Airlines needs to own up to doing the right thing.
Suggested solution:
Issue a travel voucher credit for the $500 extra ticket charge on our credit card for the Travel Advisory.
