My complaint:

My student organization, LegacyReading Area Community College, had an Open Mic Event on Friday, Nov 20, 2020. Jamica Andrews, Student Life Coordinator, scheduled the meeting, and I was the alternative host. Below is the meeting information:

Topic: Legacy Open Mic Event
Time: Nov 20, 2020 07:00 PM
Meeting ID: 930 4970 0213

The meeting was close to two hours. Even though I recorded the entire meeting, the recording is only 43:50-minute-long. On Sunday, Nov 22, I sent a message to Zoom Technical Support and here’s their response:

I can see that you have issues regarding your recording not complete. I have checked the meeting and I can see here that by 2020-11-21 00:07:31, (Bahar Diken) starts the local recording and stop it by 2020-11-21 00:51:22, (Bahar Diken) that is why it was not complete. We don’t have option as well to create a complete recording for the meeting since it will depend on the user who will record the meeting on how long and what layout they wish to.

And I wrote back to them:

You say, by 2020-11-21 00:07:31, (Bahar Diken) starts the local recording and stop it by 2020-11-21 00:51:22, (Bahar Diken) that is why it was not complete. I started the recording a little after 7:00 (not quite sure about the exact time), but I never stopped the recording. I just ended the meeting when it was over, which means that it must have been recorded till the end of the session. And the session was close to two hours. So, you should be able to create a complete recording for the meeting. Besides, I can’t figure out what time this is: 2020-11-21 00:51:22. This is a very important meeting, and I would appreciate your help to recover the recording.

And I have not heard back from them since then.

Suggested solution:

They need to figure out a way to recover the recording of the entire session.
