Wendys complaint: Received sandwich with NO wrapper and rude manager

My complaint:

At around 6 pm on November 6, 2021, I ordered two 4 for 4’s and an extra cheeseburger. I live approximately 2 miles from this Wendys on the Grover NC side and frequent this place quite often. I just commented to someone several weeks ago how this one is much better than the one in Shelby, NC. Although the last few times the one is Blacksburg, SC, does not seem as good as it used to be, I should have kept my mouth shut.

When we got the food, my granddaughter looked in the bag and said where is the wrapper for the one bacon cheeseburger, She said the bun is off of it too. It was laying over to corner of the bag. I said that was freaking gross and we’re taking it back. She said she’d eat it. But, the cheeseburger was also missing, so I said we’re definitely taking it back and getting the cheeseburger.

I told them at the speaker why I was coming back. I said you didnt give me the cheeseburger and failed to wrap the bacon cheeseburger. The girl had a little bit of an attitude, but so did I. Who would even allow this to happen? NO wrapper is just beyond gross.

I was greeted by a man at the window. He was a clean cut tall blonde young man. He insisted that the wrapper was on it and I insisted it wasnt on it and why would I bring it back? What do I gain from this? This insisting went on and on and he said that no one in there would give a sandwich without a wrapper. I’m saying well they did. Instead of simply apologizing for this and possibly giving something free or something for this nasty crap, he goes on and on implying that the wrapper must have fallen off in my car. Sorry to tell you but there was no wrapper on it.

Things escalated to the point of me calling them all idiots and asking for the manager. He said he was the manager and I said you are awful young to be manager. He said he was 20. I said go figure thats why this is like this. Words became heated on both ends. I did get my cheeseburger and bacon cheeseburger. At one point, his language was very slurred together and being as pissed off as I was told him about it. He said he will talk any way he wants and I said the same although not too nicely. He proceeded to tell me to get out of his line. I said I will leave when I want to.

This was an absolute ridiculous situation. He turned the blame on me for their failure to put a wrapper on the sandwich. His attitude and demeanor was uncalled for. I did not get his name because he didnt have a name tag on.

There’s a time and a place to stick up for your employees and a time and place to stick up for customers. This young man was was beyond rude and the food was absolutely gross.

Suggested solution:

I would fire the manager and the employee who put the sandwich in the bag. There's a time and place for trying to be cool and stick up for your employees and there's a time and place for agreeing with the customer.
This you manager let his position go to his head and let something slip through carelessly and then tried to make the customer look wrong. Too many young people working together in this Wendys.
