My complaint:

On 111821, I went to Walmart automotive in Surprise, AZ with a nail in a left front tire that was part of a set of 4 that I had purchased for our RAV 4 a few months earlier at a Walmart in Cottonwood, AZ. The Surprise store did not have a replacement tire in the correct size, but they located one for me at the Peoria, AZ Walmart. Since air was leaking fairly quickly from the left front tire with the nail in it, the Surprise Walmart rightly placed the left rear on the left front and placed the leaking tire on the left rear. I then drove to the Peoria location, where they replaced the damaged tire and installed it on the left rear. On Saturday, (06252022), we made a trip up north to visit friends. The speed limit on most of I 17 is 75, and we often found ourselves at over 80 to keep up with traffic. Just as we left I 17 for the 303 on the return leg, we started hearing a rattle. On 06262022, I got ambitious and investigated. I found this lug bolt (what is left of it) broken off, one of the remaining 4 moderately snug, and 3 loose. Walmart in Surprise did NOT tighten the lug nuts on the left front wheel. I suspect that the fractured bolt had the tightest of the 5 nuts. Once it was gone, the rattle became noticeable. Just so you understand my fury, let me explain that when a front wheel comes off a car at 85 miles per hour, usually people die. This is no joke. I am angry with Walmart for the danger they placed us in, and I am angry with myself for not checking those lug nuts sooner myself.
Also, for what it is worth, I had a heated dispute with the employee at the Peoria Walmart over the price of the replacement tire. I had 11K miles on the tire set that was supposedly rated for at least 50K miles. According to them, the tread wear was over 25%, which put me into a higher replacement cost.
Unfortunately, my wife still finds Walmart shopping to be a convenience, but I can guarantee that I will never spend another dime at any Walmart Automotive department as long as I live. You can also be assured that I will tell anyone who still has his hearing about this horrible, dangerous, and potentially deadly experience.

Suggested solution:

I'll leave that up to you. My mind is made up regarding further business with Walmart Automotive regardless of what you do.
