My complaint:
I placed my order online at Walmart.com. My order included two dented cans of Bush’s Brown Sugar Hickory Baked Beans 28 oz. Why would my order be filled with damaged cans? Are employees trained to fill customers orders with distressed merchandise?
I return the items to Customer Service at Walmart on 3390 N Highway 67, Florissant, MO 63033. I was told to go and get the items that I wanted. It was out of stock. I returned the items in the Walmart bag that had a substitution tag and my order number attached. Then, I was told that I could not get a refund without a receipt. I asked why and I was told it was Company Policy. The cashier told me that she didn’t know if I purchased the items with Food Stamps. Why did she say that? I said, This only happens in the Black neighborhood. Do I Iook like I purchased them with Food Stamps?
I reached in my pocket and showed her my TESLA key-fob. She made some other comments that didn’t make sense, which was not professional or appropriate. She tried to look up the order number with receipt on the bag and was unable to do so. She said she was not going to wait on me. I asked for the manager and another young lady that was observing the transaction called the manager. I gave the manager the number for my order from my phone and she completed the transaction with a refund.
Suggested solution:
Employees need additional training and policies need to be consistent.
Employees should realize when to issue an apology when they have handle and create a situation that out of character and unprofessional.
I should have been compensated for my time and inconvenience to file this complaint.
I have previously managed National and Schnucks Supermarkets for over twenty years and understand policies and procedures; customer service, handle customers discrepancies and exceptional service.
