My complaint:

I’m an avid Salvation Army shopper, and live in NYC, so I know the prices of S.A. shopping. The prices in this store are SO HIGH that I wonder if something’s gone wrong.

It’s the price of the clothing that I’m talking about. I was picking out things, until I realized the cost of some shorts and t-shirts would equal at least $80 and might be over $100. I checked the colors on sale, and none were, out of the 5 items I checked on after putting back all of the clothes.

Some average costs: plain men’s t-shirts– 4.99 to 7.99, even 8.99. A few were 3.99. (From other S.A.’s, I have many items that cost 99 cents or 50 when on sale.)

Other prices: men’s shorts, not new, some showing signs of wear: 5.99 to 9.99.

I mentioned this to a woman working at the front desk. I asked why the prices were so different from other Sal Army stores. She said they’re not. I said they are, and she said that the prices come from the warehouse and that people, they are still buying, so…??

I can only guess that something is wrong here. The clothing here is by no means nicer than other places, or new with tags. Other stores have much better inventory, actually.

Suggested solution:

Please check into why the prices are so high, verify that they are out of keeping with your stores, and then change the prices, please!
