My complaint:

My name is Summer Wood and in July 2020 I purchased a refrigerator for my team to use to store their lunches in at my dental practice.
I was NOT using the refrigerator to sell anything out of – NOT considered a commercial use.

The refrigerator stopped cooling a month ago and the first repairman told us that the refrigerator was under a 3 year repair warranty that I had purchased when I purchased the refrigerator from Home Depot.
Home Depot sent out a repairman – the first guy was not equipped to fix the seal system. They sent out another repairman who called and told me that my warranty was not covered because it was not in a residential location.

So now I have a $1000 refrigerator that is two years old and does not work. The warranty will not be honored by you. I was not informed of this clause in the warranty – just was asked if I wanted a warranty to cover the refrigerator.

I am asking for a refund of the warranty since it was never going to be honored in the first place

I am suggesting that you do a better job for your customers and inform the many small business owners that shop with you that you will not honor warranties for them.

I am telling you that I will avoid shopping at your store from now on and will choose Lowe’s or any other hardware store due to your poor customer service.
We hail from Georgia and have previously tried to support Home Depot because of the support that Bernie Marcus lended to the Atlanta Area – we see that since he has retired the customer service for small businesses and servicemembers is lacking – we will pass this information on.

Please refund my money for the warranty – I will be sending this email on as well to the Home Depot customer service department to relay my concern. Enclosed is the receipt for the purchase of the refrigerator and the warranty.
