For years I have enjoyed a sub on my way from work ( I work at Royal Stoke hospital paediatrics)
Today around 17.30 mu usual subway restaurant didn’t have steak so I wen to the park hall in dividy road.
When I got there 6 people where I’m the que and the lady serving ( don’t have name it was covered with marker pen )
She was very slow and appeared to be struggling. After 10-12 mins, One guy in front of me asked her where the other staff were and she said I’m the only one here there is no one else around.
Then I joined in the conversation and said have you considered informing management of the staffing situation
The lady then shouted back saying
There is nothing I can do and nothing can be done about the situation it’s not my fault.
Then the conversation just died down
When it was my turn to be served
She raised her voice and said you don’t speak to me like that no one speaks to me like that I can refuse to serve you , I was so hungry having been at work since 7am so I kept quite I didn’t answer her in case she will not serve me
This lady’s behaviour was not acceptable and I felt so humiliated the old couple behind me kept apologising on her behalf .
Such people should not be working with the public if they don’t want to hear public suggestions
I don’t understand I she could be so offended and take it so personal when I just suggested a solution to the problem
She may have been stressed out but she needs to take time away
We are all stressed working with death everyday is sad and exhausting and you don’t expect such reaction and behaviour when you walk in to buy food
She’s so unprofessional and doesn’t deserve that front role
I would appreciate a response to my complaint as this is not acceptable
Management should investigate and contact me
