My complaint:

In May, 2021, I obtained a first Covid shot as a walk-in customer at Swampscott, MA SS, returning in June for the second.

A couple of weeks ago, I received a call from SS saying that booster shots were available.

On Thursday, May 26, I visited Swampscott SS to obtain the booster and was told that I would have to make an appointment. It made no sense to me that I should drive home, get on the internet, make an appointment, drive back to get the booster that could easily have been delivered while I was in the store. Driving needlessly is bad for the environment when fuel is $2 per gallon and is just as bad when it is almost $6.

What is SS’s reason for the Covid booster appointment rule, given that Swampscott SS made the first Covid shot available upon walk-in.

Suggested solution:

SS pharmacies, wherever located, should make the Covid booster available upon walk-in. Doing so would broaden the distribution of the booster in the populace and especially among those who do not have access to or do not use the internet.
