My complaint:

I would like to report that on Saturday November 21st, 2020 around 9:40am I went into the Shopper’s Drug Mart at 1235 McCowan Rd to pick up my Dupixent medication. When I went to the counter to ask for my Dupixent, the staff proceeded to pick up my Dupixent off the floor out of the many groups of other medication “stored” on the floor. I was concerned as I understood that Dupixent should be stored in the refrigerator and proceeded to ask the staff that shouldn’t they be storing the Dupixent in the refrigerator?
She then referred me to the pharmacist, who then told me that “ideally” it should be kept in the refrigerator between 2-8 degrees Celsius but it can be left at room temperature for 14 days. I then asked the pharmacist how long it’s been out at room temperature for and he said he didn’t know. I am very concerned about the mistreatment of my medication. I refused to take the Dupixent that day as they had left it on the floor and did not know how long they had left it outside the fridge for and so I requested them to re-order it. I am concerned that they will charge me the medication 2 times (It cost $2,218.97 for 2 needles). On top of that, they couldn’t promise to have a new order for me for Monday, which is when I’m scheduled to take it. This is completely unacceptable and I am no longer comfortable going to this Shopper’s Drug Mart, especially considering the unprofessional way they have treated my medication.

Suggested solution:

I am no longer comfortable going to this Shopper’s Drug Mart ( 1235 McCowan Rd, Scarborough, ON, Canada), especially considering the unprofessional way they have treated my medication.
