My complaint:
I signed up for a free trial for a course on Shaw Academy and was basically charged 54.99 for the toolkit right away even though I never agreed to purchase the materials.
Representatives of Shaw keep saying that I clicked a pop-up, but I distinctively remember closing any window that was asking me to buy materials or a certificate. I had no intention of buying their products at that point, but only wanted to check out the course. I never clicked any button saying that I wanted to the toolkit. In fact, I contacted Shaw Academy within hours of signing up for the free trial period because I did not understand why my credit card had been charged.
I am very diligent when it comes to online purchases and this kind of situation has never happened to me before. I know when I am buying something and I never agreed to this.
Suggested solution:
I would like Shaw Academy to reimburse the 54.99 that they charge me which I never agreed to pay.
The company is acting in a fraudulent manner yet trying to appear as a legitimate company. They need to be investigated as after this happened to me, I saw online that there are thousands of other people making similar complaints.
