My complaint:

I had an account to take advantage of the 4 week trial in November 2020 and went to cancel my account when I was told by an employee that they instead will extend my free trial period until February free of charge. I had since not even take any lessons because I’ve been busy and was in the process of cancelling my free trial period closer the time. The phone call between us has been recorded as evidence.

On Tuesday 5th of January I was charged in the region of £200. This was after a call with one of their employees who said he was activating my account and made no word of any payments at all in regards to the account- again a recording of the phone call should have taken place as proof.

I was very angry to have a large sum to be taken out without my permission and complained through shaw Academy online complaints procedure.

On Friday January 8th I then received a phone call from a employee who offered me a lifetime service of shaw Academy after I persisted on my refund. He then claimed that the £200 was taken out for the November purchases but again I refuted because I was told that it was a free trial period. There is evidence in all the previous phone calls and am confident I have been unlawfully scammed of my money and should be refunded immediately.

Suggested solution:

Refund the £200 back into my account.
