My complaint:
Hello, I’m posting this because I suddenly fell in the Iron Cage and not getting any help from PNC. I have dealt with PNC for a while. I never had an issue with them. I have a PNC checking account and also a credit card. Never missed a payment on their credit card or any other one. I take my bills very seriously. A couple of months ago, I made an overseas trip to see my dad who was sick and might get a surgery (he ended up getting one). I got so busy caring for him but my bills always were at the back of my mind. I kept up with all of them except PNC. PNC was completely inaccessible from where I was. Was it their mobile app, their website or even their customer service most of time. Calling their customer service from overseas was such a bad experience. With no access to personal US phone number the process took forever.
When I finally managed to be connected, I found out that my credit card bill was 3 days past the due date. I explained the situation to the specialist and asked that I would pay it at the moment but to no avail. They said that my payment cannot be applied toward my previous monthly payment and that it would be considered a late/missed payment. I was so upset. I firmly believe it’s their fault not to provide the tools to access my accounts from overseas just like any other financial institution. I’m banking with Chase too and could easily keep track of my accounts with them from the same place.
Today they also lowered my credit limit causing a 20 point drop in my credit score.
I wish I never dealt with PNC and can’t wait to end my business with them and share my experience with friends and family if this situation doesn’t get resolved. Besides my intention to dispute that late payment with the credit bureau and every other place I can.
Suggested solution:
Remove the late payment record and return my credit limit back to what it was. I’m ready to submit whatever payments required to get that done.
