My complaint:
Have been using Netspend to make child support payments online and was notified by Netspend via text message that the was a problem with my account to call the phone number listed. When calling the phone number listed I was notified that my account was closed due to unacceptable usage by the bank as per agent speaking with at the time . I didn’t receive any prior notifications from Netspend regarding account being closed . The agent did say that Netspend would refund via check any remaining balance in account and forward to address on file. Question is Netspend a legitimate banking institution and how many other individuals have experienced such ludicrous excuses and may have had the accounts closed. If Netspend was not setup to accommodate online payments to child support they should have made mention of it up front. That is what I used the card for and this so call decision to close account for unacceptable usage is a joke coming from a so call banking institution. But no worries I am grateful that Netspend reveal to me that they are not a reputable source to have trusted in carrying out my banking needs in execution of online payments especially to child support and am most grateful that Netspend is not in charge of overseeing a large sum of my money. I would thank Netspend for their time and service but am not apt to do so due such a poor response I received in the decision to close account without any notification. Now I have to check and see if my payments I sent via Netspend made it to its destination namely child support the purpose for which I closed to use the card in the first place
